Ekam obtained his Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia, where he received the International Tuition Entrance Award. Before and during law school, Ekam gained valuable experience as a court clerk at the B.C. Supreme Court in Vancouver. He also volunteered his time as a clinician for the Law Students Legal Advice Program at UBC, providing pro bono legal assistance. In his final year of law school, Ekam served as a judicial intern to several Provincial Court Judges, where he assisted with ongoing legal matters before the court.
Ekam’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and a Legal Studies Certificate from Simon Fraser University. During his undergraduate studies at SFU, he received multiple awards and scholarships including the Undergraduate Open Scholarship and the School of Criminology Alumni Scholarship.
Tiffany practices in the areas of corporate/commercial, real estate, and lending.
Tiffany is experienced in working with individuals and businesses preparing and negotiating various contracts and agreements and advises on a range of corporate and commercial matters, including corporate governance, reorganizations, and the purchase and sale of businesses. In addition, she works with both institutional and private lenders in general corporate and commercial matters.
Tiffany’s real estate practice includes commercial real estate acquisitions, disposition, real estate development, leasing, real estate financing, and corporate structuring. In addition to her work in market housing development, Tiffany is deeply committed to supporting not-for-profit organizations. She provides guidance on governance issues, helps clients navigate government funding programs, and contributes to housing and community development initiatives.
Annalise represents clients in a broad range of disputes with a focus on commercial litigation. She has advocated for clients in British Columbia’s Provincial Court and the Supreme Court.
Annalise obtained her JD from Thompson Rivers University. During her time at law school, Annalise was dedicated to her community, serving as the President of the TRU Women in Law Society. Annalise also undertook many professional endeavours including working for a prominent Vancouver real estate developer, consulting for a provincial government agency, and developing constitutional law materials for a national textbook publisher. In her final year of law school, Annalise studied Transnational Commercial law at the European Business School in Germany.
Emma is a litigator with a focus on commercial litigation and insurance defence. She has experience in a broad range of practice areas including commercial arbitrations, shareholder disputes, multi-party construction defect claims, and securities and professional regulatory matters. Emma has advocated for clients at all levels of court in BC, in private commercial arbitrations, and before administrative tribunals in BC and Alberta.
Victoria is a solicitor practicing in the areas of corporate/commercial, real estate, and lending. Victoria is experienced in preparing and negotiating various contracts (including shareholder agreements and limited partnership agreements), advising on business and commercial real estate transactions, and dealing with corporate restructurings and other corporate matters.
Lina is a member of the Litigation Group who specializes in insurance defence, family law and estates litigation. Lina is fluent in Korean and is a certified family law mediator.
Lina obtained her juris doctorate from Thompson Rivers University in 2020. She then articled and worked as an associate for a well-known litigation firm in Vancouver, where she handled issues of varying complexity in the areas of insurance defence, family law and estates litigation. Lina has appeared before the Supreme Court and the Provincial Court of British Columbia.
Kimberley practices family law and is also a family law mediator.
With a litigation and dispute resolution practice focused on family law, Kimberley is experienced in arbitration, mediation, and negotiation. Kimberley regularly appears in the BC Supreme Court. Kimberley’s expertise spans all matters affecting families in British Columbia, including property division, spousal support, child support, parental responsibilities, guardianship, relocation and mobility, and parenting time. She helps clients resolve complex property division matters and disputes involving corporations, partnerships, trusts and real estate. She also prepares cohabitation, pre-nuptial, marriage and separation agreements. In all circumstances, Kimberley takes a practical, solution-orientated approach.
Kaitlin Smiley’s litigation practice focuses on complex civil and commercial disputes, including shareholder disputes, oppression claims, corporate disputes, negligence and professional liability, class actions, product liability and societies matters. She also advises underwriters on complex insurance coverage issues and disputes.
In the course of her varied practice, she has acted for major corporations in the pharmaceutical industry, financial sector, and real estate industry, as well as insurance companies in complex legal disputes before the courts of British Columbia and the Federal Courts. Her class action practice has involved defending proposed product liability, pharmaceutical, competition and consumer protection class actions.
Kaitlin has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as the Canadian Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, handling complex interlocutory applications, petition hearings, and conducting trials. She also works with societies with respect to interpretation and enforcement of their bylaws.
