Owen Bird congratulates Dan Coles, who will be admitted as a new member of the Law Society of Yukon in Whitehorse, YT later today.
Dan joins fellow Owen Bird lawyers Alan Frydenlund, QC and Paul Brackstone in our firm’s Yukon Law practice group. The trio serves clients in the Yukon or those with business or other legal matters in the territory.
Dan Coles has broad civil litigation experience across a diverse range of practice areas in BC’s courts and administrative tribunals. In addition to his particular focus on the hospitality and liquor industry, Dan serves clients in construction, insurance, leasing, banking and governmental bodies. He’s also the author of an award-winning blog, Alcohol & Advocacy, on which he writes about alcohol-related litigation and policy issues.
Paul Brackstone is an experienced civil litigator who represents clients involved in legal matters across many areas of law. Paul’s practice is focused on trial and appellate corporate commercial litigation and arbitration. From corporate and shareholder disputes, to construction and real estate litigation, Paul has represented clients at arbitration, all levels of the BC courts, and at the Supreme Court of Canada.
Alan Frydenlund, QC focuses his practice on lending, protecting lenders by perfecting, safeguarding and realizing on their security. He works with both borrowers and lenders in syndicated debt financing and other complex transactions, including foreclosures, receivership and bankruptcy proceedings. Alan has provided expert witness evidence on financing transactions in court, and is a sought-after instructor and author.
