The annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (“IDPS”) took place on December 3. The day was proclaimed by the United Nations in 1992 with the aim of promoting an understanding of disability issues and mobilizing support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. The day aims to promote the importance of inclusion in life and the workplace of persons with both visible and invisible disabilities. This year Owen Bird hosted a breakfast by donation with all proceedings being donated to Disability Alliance B.C. www.disabilityalliancebc.org to help fund their services and programs supporting persons with disabilities.
Thank you to everyone that participated and gave generously!
