OBLC Participating in Access Pro Bono’s 2021 Advice-A-Thon

The Diversity, Inclusion and Community Involvement Committee at Owen Bird is pleased to announce entry of our team in the 2021 virtual advice-a-thon hosted by Access Pro Bono!

Pro Bono Going Public 2021 with Access Pro Bono (September 13 – 24, 2021) provides one-hour free summary legal advice appointments to low and modest-income British Columbians to support access to justice across the province.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic hit our communities back in 2020, the need for access to legal support and services has never been greater.   Access Pro Bono reports a 30% increase in use of their free legal services during this challenging time. For many, the pandemic has brought turmoil and instability to their lives, making it critical for those in need to access free legal help.

Our team at OBLC is excited and honoured to be among 120 lawyers donating time and legal expertise this September 13 -24, by providing free legal help to those in need.  Both litigators and solicitors will give their time and energy to provide pro bono legal services.    We are excited for the opportunity to give back to our community and assist those who would otherwise be unable to obtain legal advice and support.

Please join us in providing desperately needed help to fellow British Columbians by donating to our team today.     To Donate and learn more about Pro Bono Going Public 2021, please visit our team homepage at the link found here. All funds raised by Pro Bono Going Public 2021 will go directly to support Access Pro Bono’s wide array of pro bono programs.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
