Paul Brackstone has stepped down from the Executive Committee, as part of the firm’s planned leadership succession. During his time in management, Paul led with thoughtful judgment and a strong commitment to the firm’s continued success. We are grateful for Paul’s meaningful contributions and the role he played in supporting the firm during his tenure. We thank Paul sincerely for his leadership and service.
Effective April 15, 2026, the shareholders are pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Stephens to Owen Bird’s Executive Committee, where he will serve as Co‑Managing Director alongside Jocelyn Bellerud, who was appointed to this role in April 2022.
Scott is an experienced litigator focused on complex commercial, insolvency, construction, and insurance matters. As Co-Managing Director, he will continue serving his clients while working with the firm’s shareholders, associates, and staff to deliver high‑quality legal services, fostering an inclusive and supportive culture, and maintaining Owen Bird’s strong position in Vancouver’s legal market.
