Coco has a broad litigation practice working on complex contract, property, tort, administrative and human rights disputes. She has advocated for clients in B.C. Provincial Court and B.C. Supreme Court as well as in Federal Court and various tribunals.

Before joining Owen Bird’s litigation group, Coco practiced as a litigation associate at an international law firm in downtown Vancouver and most recently as a lawyer with the Department of Justice Canada. As a litigator, Coco has gained varied experience completing trial work, appearing on urgent applications and leading judicial reviews for institutional clients.

Coco’s litigation practice has exposed her to work in several practice areas including:

  • Insurance: property damage insurance claims and third party actions;
  • Personal injury: occupier liability claims for commercial retail;
  • Municipal law: bylaw enforcement, injunctions and bylaw drafting;
  • Professional negligence;
  • Contract and negligence;
  • Securities: misrepresentation and oppression;
  • Environmental contamination;
  • Expropriation; and
  • Commercial leasing.

Coco is fluent in French and received a French Baccalaureate with Highest Honours, Lycée Claudel, Ottawa.

Outside of work, Coco enjoys travelling to new places, reading, hosting dinner parties and getting outdoors.
