Owen Bird Lawyers Feature at Interlaw 2017 Americas & Asia Pacific Regional Meeting

Owen Bird is proud to be sending a team of six lawyers to Interlaw’s 2017 Americas & Asia regional meeting to be held in Seattle on April 27th to April 30th.

This year’s meeting is hosted by Foster Pepper PLLC, and will take place at the Seattle Grand Hyatt. The conference program will focus on the use of big data and technology; and also include a tour of Boeing’s final assembly building.

The shareholders at Owen Bird are pleased to welcome Kari Richardson as Associate Counsel to the firm.

Kari has practiced in the Securities Law area for more than fifteen years where she has represented both public and private companies in Canada and in the United States.

Kari also served as a Foreign Service Officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade for six years which included a posting at the Canadian High Commission in Cameroon as the Political and Economic Program Manager and Vice Consul.

Alan Frydenlund and Scott Stephens Present Forclosures Paper at CLEBC Real Estate Conference

On Wednesday, December 7th, Owen Bird lawyers Alan Frydenlund and Scott Stephens participated as faculty at the 9th annual Residential Real Estate Conference, presented by the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia.

Alan Frydenlund Appointed Chair of Interlaw North America Region

Owen Bird is pleased to announce that Alan Frydenlund has assumed a new leadership role for Interlaw‘s North American Region. At the recently held Interlaw AGM in Tokyo, Japan in November, Alan was appointed Chair of the North America Region.

Alan has been active in the Interlaw organization for more than two decades. He currently sits on the Interlaw Board of Directors as the Secretary and Treasurer.

Dan Coles Elected as Director of the Vancouver Bar Association

Owen Bird lawyer Dan Coles was elected as a Director of Vancouver Bar Association at their November 24th AGM held last night.

The Vancouver Bar Association is a non-profit organization with more than 1500 members from the Vancouver area and beyond. The firm is pleased that Dan has chosen to commit his time to the VBA and will undoubtedly be an excellent representative on the Board.
